Find your future at Revvity We are looking for a talented Senior Software Development Engineer (Scala 2/3 FP, Elasticsearch, Spark) to join our Signals Software Team, building a product we call the Signals Data Factory. The Signals Data Factory is a product which specializes in taking in many different forms of scientific data, transforming it to a structured format for analytics, and making it searchable (using Elasticsearch) and analyzable via a variety of interfaces. Its current use spans from early in the drug-discovery process to analyzing active clinical trial data. You Will: • Create highly performant and scalable services primarily in Scala FP • Work on a medium to large data warehouse for scientific data, that’s also AI/ML ready, with a focus on searching and analytics of that data • Work on a medium to large data transformation engine capable of processing petabytes of data to the warehouse • Work with AWS services and cloud technologies • Collaborate with fellow team members on priorities, technical specifications, design reviews, code reviews, implementation, testing and troubleshooting Basic Qualifications: • 5+ years of Software Development experience • 3+ years of Scala Functional Programming versions 2 or 3 experience, and experience with related Scala libraries such as Zio • 2+ years of experience and demonstrated skill with Elasticsearch queries and performance Preferred Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree is preferred • Skilled with data structure design of Elasticsearch data for performance • Skilled with data structure design of Warehouse data in RDS Postgres, Deltalake or other relational databases • Experience with API design and performance in Node.js or Vert.x • Experience with data transformation in Spark Scala or Dask python • Experience with cloud application performance at one of the top 3 providers • Architecting and performance analysis skills • Strongly driven – ability to clarify product requirements into technical specifications, and deliver solid code in a highly distributed and fast-moving environment • Excellent communication skills • Strong problem-solving skills • Ability to mentor other engineers and testers Candidates must have the capability to Interview In-Person at our Headquarters in Waltham, MA USA. This range reflects the minimum and maximum arenaflex for a new hire in this position. The base pay actually offered to the successful candidate will take into account internal equity, work location, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
