Senior NLP Engineer (contract)

The Senior AI Expert will design, develop, and deploy advanced NLP and LLM-driven solutions that power intelligent search, automation, and decision-support capabilities. This role requires deep expertise across modern NLP techniques, transformer architectures, model optimization, and production-grade ML engineering. The candidate will lead end-to-end solution delivery, from research and prototyping through scalable deployment in cloud environments. Key Responsibilities • Architect, build, and optimize NLP models using Hugging Face Transformers (BERT, GPT, etc.), NLTK, and knowledge-graph-based approaches. • Design and develop semantic search, entity extraction, text classification, summarization, and conversational AI solutions. • Develop production-ready NLP and LLM pipelines using Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Keras. • Lead implementation of retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) for enterprise applications. • Build APIs and microservices to expose NLP/LLM capabilities across products. • Integrate models into cloud platforms (GCP or Azure) for scalable deployment. • Implement MLOps practices including model versioning, arenaflex/CD workflows, automated retraining, and performance monitoring. • Optimize model performance using quantization, pruning, and model compression techniques. • Enable COE teams through reusable components, best practices, and technical mentorship. • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to convert business needs into AI-enabled technical solutions. Must-Have Skills • Deep NLP expertise with transformer-based architectures (Hugging Face, BERT, GPT). • Strong Python development experience for NLP and ML model building. • Hands-on experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Keras. • Experience deploying production-grade NLP solutions. • Knowledge of semantic search, embeddings, knowledge graphs, and text-processing techniques. Good-to-Have Skills • Experience with LLM fine-tuning, prompt engineering, and RAG patterns. • API development using REST and microservices patterns. • arenaflex/CD for ML models using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar. • MLOps practices: model monitoring, versioning, and automated retraining. • Distributed processing for large-scale NLP workloads. • Cloud experience (GCP or Azure). Trainable Skills • Model compression, quantization, and inference optimization. • Docker and Kubernetes for containerized NLP model deployment. Qualifications • 6–10 years of experience in applied NLP, ML engineering, or AI solution development. • Strong background in productionizing ML models at scale. • Proven experience delivering enterprise-grade NLP or LLM systems. • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, AI, or related field. The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $42.35/hour - $66.18/hour. Our benefits include medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits. This is what this question poses: When do you focus and start working seriously? What are the hours you work optimally? Are you a night owl? A morning bird? Remote teams can be made up of people working on different shifts and around the world, so you won't necessarily be stuck in the 9-5 schedule if it's not for you...

2. HOW DO YOU USE THE DIFFERENT COMMUNICATION TOOLS IN DIFFERENT SITUATIONS?

When you're working on a remote team, there's no way to chat in the hallway between meetings or catch up on the latest project during an office carpool. Therefore, virtual communication will be absolutely essential to get your work done...

3. WHAT IS "WORKING REMOTE" REALLY FOR YOU?

Many people want to work remotely because of the flexibility it allows. You can work anywhere and at any time of the day...

4. WHAT DO YOU NEED IN YOUR PHYSICAL WORKSPACE TO SUCCEED IN YOUR WORK?

With this question, companies are looking to see what equipment they may need to provide you with and to verify how aware you are of what remote working could mean for you physically and logistically...

5. HOW DO YOU PROCESS INFORMATION?

Several years ago, I was working in a team to plan a big event. My supervisor made us all work as a team before the big day. One of our activities has been to find out how each of us processes information...

6. HOW DO YOU MANAGE THE CALENDAR AND THE PROGRAM? WHICH APPLICATIONS / SYSTEM DO YOU USE?

Or you may receive even more specific questions, such as: What's on your calendar? Do you plan blocks of time to do certain types of work? Do you have an open calendar that everyone can see?...

7. HOW DO YOU ORGANIZE FILES, LINKS, AND TABS ON YOUR COMPUTER?
