About Our Company and the Role As a trusted partner to the U.S. Navy and other military customers, HII has been maintaining and modernizing the majority of the Navy's fleet for over 40 years. Our Mission Technologies division is a rapidly growing business group that delivers all-domain expertise and advanced technologies, including C5ISR, AI, Big Data, cyber operations, and synthetic training environments. We're looking for a Senior Database Administrator to lead database management efforts for our critical mission technology systems, ensuring the smooth operation, security, and performance of our enterprise-level databases. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain databases to ensure optimal performance, security, and integrity. Conduct performance tuning of indexes and databases, and provide recommendations for enhancements and improvements. Review database design and integration of systems, and develop stored procedures and triggers as needed. Formulate policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management, and monitor transaction activity and utilization. Perform tasks in support of computer database administration, including architecting, designing, and overseeing the development of computerized databases. Create and maintain data correction logs, and update data dictionaries as new fields are added to the database. Expand and update the data dictionary for the database and related applications. Essential Qualifications To be considered for this role, you must have: A minimum of 41 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field, or 39 years with a Master's degree, or 44 years with a High School Diploma or equivalent. Extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, and independently perform a wide variety of complicated tasks. Experience in providing consultation on complex tasks, leading and directing the work of others, and communicating effectively. The ability to work independently and clearly present technical approaches and findings. U.S. Citizenship and a DoD Secret-Level Clearance. Preferred Qualifications While not required, having a Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) is highly desirable.
