Senior Computational Biologist (Remote)

The Role Join our team and help build the world's first biological reasoning model. Work with us to build generative foundational models that decode biological systems across scales - from molecules to organisms - enabling us to predict, understand, and program living systems in ways never before possible. Output is currently in stealth, operated by a team of repeat founders and biotech veterans with multiple exits in AI x Bio, and backed by top-tier VCs including Y Combinator. As a Senior Computational Biologist, you'll work alongside members of our research team and our founders to develop AI systems capable of complex biological reasoning across multiple scales. • You will develop machine learning methods to extend our predictive and generative platform • You will design and execute computational pipelines to validate and prioritized de novo generated molecules using state of the art tools • You will use your deep understanding of biology to design novel therapeutics for hard-to-arenaflex proteins with our generative models • You will analyze and integrate large-scale biological datasets • Your work will directly impact the development of our biologically-aware AI platform, transforming the landscape of medicine Make a real tangible impact on millions of lives by pushing the boundaries of AI in biology. Who We're Looking For • You have a PhD in a biological field and strong programming skills in Python • You have experience with computational biology tools such as structure prediction, molecular docking and virtual screening • You have experience working with Protein or Chemical Language Models • You like to work collaboratively in a fast-paced startup environment • You are passionate about using data science to unlock the secrets of biology • You exhibit a proactive approach to problem-solving, thinking beyond the specific task, taking ownership of challenges, and pride in solving them • You have a mature mindset in ambiguous situations, helping to frame questions and seek clarity while making decisions in the face of uncertainty • You have excellent communication skills and can clearly articulate complex technical concepts • You will be expected to travel periodically for in-person team meetings at our NYC HQ Bonus Points • You have hands-on experience building AI/ML using PyTorch and Lightning • You have experience with cloud computing platforms like AWS • You have hands-on biology laboratory experience • You have contributed to peer-reviewed publications in computational biology • You have knowledge of machine learning techniques applied to biological data Our Values ❤️ Heart: We foster a culture of ownership.
