Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated Remote Database Developer to join our innovative and growing team. As a Remote Database Developer, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining robust and scalable database solutions that power our diverse range of client projects and internal systems. You will play a critical role in ensuring data integrity, performance, and security across various database platforms, working closely with software developers, data architects, and operations teams in an agile environment. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain database schemas, stored procedures, functions, and triggers. • Optimize database performance by analysing queries, indexes, and overall database structure. • Develop and implement ETL processes for data integration and warehousing. • Ensure data integrity, security, and availability through best practices and robust solutions. • Collaborate with software developers to integrate applications with database systems. • Monitor database systems for performance issues, troubleshoot problems, and implement corrective actions. • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers. • Document database designs, configurations, and operational procedures. • Stay abreast of new database technologies and trends, proposing innovative solutions when appropriate. Required Skills • 5+ years of experience in database development and administration. • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with at least one major relational database system (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle). • Expertise in database design, data modeling, normalization, and denormalization. • Proven experience with query optimization, performance tuning, and indexing strategies. • Solid understanding of ETL processes and data warehousing concepts. • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git). • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team.
