We are looking for an experienced Quality Manager to perform these key functions at our Quincy FL location. Position Summary: This position will coordinate activities of mining, production and quality analysis through developing mine plans, statistical analysis of in-process material and finished product conformance to specifications. Work with Geologist, Corporate QMS, Operations, Customer Service, Sales, etc to optimize product quality and customer satisfaction. Coordinate with other functions to identify opportunities to improve the quality management system, understand the interactions between the processes and assist process owners with documentation of processes for effective operation and control. Coordinate and support QMS training activities. Essential Functions: • Provide effective communication and direction to all employees under responsibilities. • Provide testing and technical support for the mining, production and packaging operations. • Identify critical quality parameters based on customer specifications and production rates. • Insure appropriate and timely test results are being generated to minimize or eliminate the production of non-conforming product. • Monitor results to ensure continual improvement goals are met. Report metrics to management as required. • Develop, coordinate and/or support crude testing and control program as needed at particular site. • Oversee labs to ensure effective calibrations, test methods and training, instrument maintenance, lab supplies, etc. • Support plant trials or other special projects at various locations as directed by management. • Evaluate CAPAs for corrective or preventative actions, repetitive issues noted in meetings, emails, discussions, plant observations, etc • Evaluate Quality Data for trends related to customer complaints, internal processes and communicate team members in a timely manner. • Initiate and investigate root causes of CAPA cases when applicable and use independent judgment and discretion to resolve significant concerns. • Develop and maintain reports and dashboards as required • Coordinate document development and review • Coach and mentor process owners to understand and sustain the Quality Management System. • Set SMART Goals (Specific, Measurable, Aligned/Agreed, Relevant, & Timely), provide monthly coaching, and evaluate performance of team. • Adhere to all QMS procedures and documentation as applicable to position and department, and as required by ISO. • Other projects and duties as assigned Job Requirements and Skill Sets: * Bachelor degree in chemistry, geology, civil engineering or related fields is preferred but not required depending on work experience. • Previous experience in a laboratory setting combined with geological or engineering field work a plus. • Able to work well with people at all levels of the organization, including contractors. • Strong analytical, statistical, computer and problem solving skills. Experience with arenaflex Office. • General working knowledge of MSHA safety regulations. • Initiative in all aspects of job, continually looking for ways to improve the quality, production and safety aspects of Active Minerals. • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects a plus. • Ability to communicate verbal and statistical presentations of data in corporate meetings. • Strong moral and ethical standards. • Ability to effectively lead others utilizing coaching, mentoring and teamwork skills. • Respirator Fit Test is required at hire; no facial hair can interfere with the seal of the respirator during the test and annual fit test screening.
