We’re hiring for a Front Desk Agent to Live. Work. Explore. in the gateway to Glacier National Park!

 

Job Summary:
As a Front Desk Agent, you’ll deliver outstanding service from check-in to check-out, handle reservations, and provide helpful local info, all while keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes. If you’re organized, personable, and thrive in a fast-paced setting, this is the role for you.

 

The Details:
Position Type: Part-Time, Year-Round
Start Date: Immediately
Pay: $17.80/hour
Schedule: Typically 24 hours/week. Friday, Saturday, and Monday 3pm-11pm or overnights (may occasionally require working other shifts based on business need).
Housing: Employee housing or RV sites not available

Responsibilities

Guest Relations and Service:

  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times
  • Answer questions and provide accurate information about area facilities, activities, and attractions
  • Handle guest problems and complaints, resolving issues to guest satisfaction
  • Educate guests on company environmental policies

Reservations and Check-In/Out:

  • Register guests, assign rooms, and issue keys securely
  • Make, confirm, and cancel reservations
  • Handle all aspects of group tour arrivals and check-ins
  • Prepare guest folios and statements for checkout
  • Process payments and balance receipts/transactions at end of shift

Communication and Information Management:

  • Answer phones promptly using proper etiquette
  • Take accurate messages and relay information
  • Coordinate wake-up calls and handle guest mail
  • Operate PBX switchboard for calls
  • Maintain up-to-date guest room lists

Financial Responsibilities:

  • Follow cash handling procedures and secure bank
  • Post charges to guest accounts
  • Reconcile transactions and verify daily drop amounts
  • Understand and follow PCI compliance guidelines

Other Duties:

  • Assist with retail sales where applicable
  • Handle lost and found items according to procedures
  • Follow emergency and safety protocols
  • Maintain clean and organized workspace
  • Assist other departments as needed

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and people skills. Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
  • General computer skills and knowledge of common office machines, i.e., computers, typewriters, calculators, cash registers, etc. required.
  • Knowledge of Property Management System (PMS) Opera preferred.
  • Basic Sales and Accounting skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and follow instruction accurately.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and move through them in an efficient manner.
  • Ability to interact with diverse peoples and help resolve any issues.
  • Ability to work quickly and thoroughly under pressure.
  • Must be flexible and open to changes in procedures.
  • Must be friendly, outgoing, enthusiastic and courteous in dealing with guests and co-workers.
  • Must be able to handle guest concerns in a tactful and caring manner.
  • Must be team-oriented.
  • Must possess neat and pleasant grooming habits.
  • Must be knowledgeable of Glacier National Park’s history and points of interest.
  • Must have good organizational skills.

Physical Requirements include:

  • Able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
  • Standing for up to eight hours per shift.
  • Requires bending, stretching and reaching throughout a shift up to 8 hours.
  • Working with required chemicals.
