Night shift Machinist

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Night Shift Machinist to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and maintain CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines, including lathes and milling machines, during overnight shifts. (Monday to Thursday) Your expertise in machining processes, precision measurement, and blueprint interpretation will ensure the production of high-quality components. Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machining equipment such as CNC lathes and milling machines using Fanuc controls or similar systems
  • Interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to ensure accurate fabrication of parts
  • Program CNC machines using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software and perform necessary adjustments for optimal performance
  • Use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to verify part dimensions
  • Maintain detailed documentation of machining processes, inspection results, and shift reports
  • Perform routine maintenance on machinery and troubleshoot issues promptly to minimize downtime
  • Follow safety protocols rigorously while handling power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, and tooling

Qualifications

  • Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as CNC lathe and CNC milling machine in a manufacturing environment
  • knowledge of Nakamura machines is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages (e.g., G-code) and CAM programming software
  • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T standards accurately
  • Familiarity with precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM)
  • Basic math skills necessary for calculating dimensions and tolerances in manufacturing tasks
  • Ability to work independently during night shifts with minimal supervision while maintaining high safety standards
  • 2 year machining degree is required along with machining experience
