Role Overview

The MES PAS‑X Process Owner is responsible for defining, governing, and optimizing end‑to‑end manufacturing execution processes within a pharmaceutical environment. This role requires deep functional and technical expertise in Werum PAS‑X, strong process modeling skills, and a solid understanding of regulated GxP/GMP operations.


Key Responsibilities

Business Process Ownership

  • Lead business process analysis, requirements gathering, and functional design for MES processes.
  • Translate manufacturing workflows into Master Batch Records (MBRs), Electronic Batch Records (EBRs), and Master Data structures.
  • Drive process standardization, harmonization, and continuous improvement across MES operations.

PAS‑X Functional & Technical Expertise

  • Hands-on expertise in PAS‑X areas including GMBRs, PVL, PMBRs, Equipment Management, Material Flow, Weigh & Dispense, EBR/MBR, and Master Data.
  • Configure and customize PAS‑X modules based on business requirements.
  • Design and enhance State Diagrams and manage updates to process models and Master Data.

System Design & Integration

  • Lead MES design and development activities aligned with pharma manufacturing requirements.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with SAP–MES interfaces, L2 integrations, and reporting needs.
  • Support PAS‑X installation, upgrades, configuration, and development activities.

Compliance & Quality

  • Ensure compliance with GxP, GMP, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, and validated system requirements.
  • Maintain documentation and governance related to MES processes, configurations, and changes.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as the primary process owner for MES, managing coordination with manufacturing, quality, IT, and automation teams.
  • Lead workshops, design reviews, and validations to ensure smooth adoption of MES enhancements.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong business process knowledge in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Proven functional and technical expertise in Werum PAS‑X.
  • Hands-on experience in designing and developing State Diagrams, MBRs/EBRs, and Master Data.
  • Knowledge of SAP–MES interface, L2 integrations, and MES reporting.
  • Strong SQL skills and familiarity with relational databases.
  • In-depth understanding of GxP, GMP, electronic batch records, and validated environments.
  • Familiarity with ITIL process frameworks and pharma domain requirements.

Good to Have

  • Domain experience in Pharma/Life Sciences manufacturing.
  • Experience with 21 CFR Part 11 compliance.
  • Knowledge of digital manufacturing and MES architecture.

Compensation: - $110,000 to $130,000 +/- and this position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans. Application will be accepted by 3/24/2026
