Merchandiser- Full Time-Wilson, NC

Our team is currently looking for a Full-Time Merchandiser to keep up our level of commitment to safety and customer service. The Merchandiser’s main job function is to assist with sales and create brand awareness. A sales merchandiser should have knowledge of our products as they relate to the deli.

The duties of a Dietz & Watson Merchandiser are listed below but not limited to:

  • Safely operate a deli slicer
  • Set up of deli cases and appropriately rotate deli product
  • Understand and execute schematics/planograms
  • Maintain marketing displays using Dietz & Watson Point of Sale (POS)
  • Needs to be a self-starter, work in a team environment and or with little or no supervision
  • Manage time effectively and productively
  • Complete all reports as necessary including store surveys
  • Consistently provide coverage to all stores within assigned territory based on store ranking
  • Make regular store visits documenting all concerns/problems (i.e. shortages, equipment problems, ordering issues, etc.) and addressing these concerns in a timely manner
  • Build and maintain customer relationships by displaying high-level customer service techniques to deli managers, employees, and store customers
  • Possess the knowledge and ability to both create and market Dietz & Watson programs
  • Training of all new store deli hires on the merits of Dietz & Watson and refresh training when needed
  • Communicate any information deemed necessary to Merchandiser Manager (i.e. grand openings, store closing, etc.)
  • Utilizing the monthly sales reports to achieve 100% distribution.
  • Explore opportunities for sales growth w/Merchandiser Manager
  • Maintain full displays
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment
  • Perform special projects outside of assigned territory
Minimum Requirements
  • Flexibility and ability to travel (including flying) as needed and may be up to 30% of the time.
  • Must be able to read and write English
  • Must have computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Must possess communication, organization, creativity, and customization skills
  • Must be able to exercise independent decision-making skills on a regular basis
  • Must be available to work weekends on occasion
  • High school diploma or equivalence
  • 1-2 years of customer service/sales experience preferred. Previous deli experience is a plus.
  • Must have a reliable vehicle and must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must have valid Real ID or Passport for travel.
  • Must be able to pass the company issued ServSafe Manager exam
