Lead Product Designer (Phoenix AZ or Remote)

About Us Trainual is a team of 100+ super-talented folks obsessed with making small business easier. And while our team members come with diverse experiences, we’re united by our passion for making ideas happen. We launched the world’s first playbook tool in 2018, and today, thousands of companies in nearly every industry use it to scale their teams. TL;DR Trainual is looking for a Lead Product Designer to join the team! This is not just any role (and not just any company)—design and experience are highly valued at Trainual. Teaming up with our VP of Product Design, you’ll have a huge impact as a role model, teacher, and advocate to the design team. So… who are you? You’re obsessed with taking problems and breaking them down into bite-sized chunks. You love getting to know the user in a deep way so you can anticipate their needs. You are a bit of a UI geek, know your way around a design system and you love working with other designers to make our product better every day. Our design team is spread across a few different time zones, so we are flexible with our schedules (and making sure you get creative heads-down time!) based on what makes sense for each person. To collaborate effectively with our teams, we do try and keep some overlapping time open for collaboration most days—from about 9am PST to 2pm AZ MST. What you'll own & improve: • Design impactful features in Trainual with endless opportunities to leverage AI, really flex your UI design skills, be creative, push boundaries, and solve really important problems for our customers. You’ll partner closely with a strong PM and engineers to make ideas happen and own your product area, plus influence others. • Influence your team to be the best designers they can be. We are looking for someone who will mentor our product design team to problem-solve, tell compelling stories, and push creative boundaries while balancing user and business needs. Set the bar for design at Trainual by advocating for exceptional user experiences, running impactful critiques, and fostering collaboration across the team. What you already know: • Design! You have 7 years of experience designing SaaS products. • Great UI and UX skills to bring our end-to-end user experience to life. • You have experience with (and adore) Figma. • How to creatively problem solve and how to design (and think) ahead. • How to be a great teammate and collaborator with your Product and Engineering counterparts. • You’re a great relationship builder and are used to working with stakeholders from all across the board - from creatives, to technical pros, to leaders on the executive team. • You have mentorship or lead experience. • You love running critiques, feedback sessions, and have some of your own ideas on how to get the best out of every designer and every meeting. • Bonus points if you love writing copy and are a great UX writer About the team: You’ll report directly to our insanely dedicated VP Product Design, Liz Dube. You’ll be in close collaboration with your Senior Product Manager (AKA partner-in-crime). And you’ll be a helpful lead to your fellow designers - Autumn Neal, Dayne Petera, Garrett Anderson, Diogo Masgalos, and Joao Rosa.
