IT Director- Emerson Rogers

General Description:

The Director IT participates on, and oversees, a team of resources focused on business relationship management, project identification and justification, business requirements documentation, test case development, user acceptance testing, and training across various operational support and project areas. The Director IT is also responsible for hosting recurring business review meetings to present current operational and project status updates.

Responsibilities:

The Director IT performs a wide range of duties including some, or all, of the following:

  • Manage a team responsible for supporting changes to new and existing Business Services and Applications.
  • Provide oversight and leadership to team members with a focus on client communications and commitment delivery.
  • Subject matter expert (SME) in insurance commission, finance, operations, and/or sales workflows and applications.
  • Act as the primary IT liaison with the Line of Business Leadership.
  • Interface with application and business services vendors.
  • Manage vendor contracts and billing.
  • Review utilization of vendor provided services.
  • Lead contract renewal efforts in advance of expiring agreements.
  • Performs comparative evaluation of internal duplicative systems and system alternatives.
  • Present recommendations and findings to senior management.
  • Work with business leaders to identify opportunities for improvements to top-line growth and bottom-line savings
  • Develop business cases and ROI justification for proposed projects
  • Present and review business cases and ROI with senior management and business leaders
  • Manage projects of various sizes
  • Host recurring business review meetings to present current operational and project status updates. Prioritize tasks and resolve issues.

USI Cyber Security Job Responsibilities:

  • Configure, develop, design, architect, implement, acquire, and operate systems in accordance with:
    • USI Policies for the Information Security Program (PISP)
    • USI Standards for the Information Security Program (SISP)
  • Keep up to date with security updates and improvements to safeguard information system assets by identifying and solving potential and actual security problems.
  • Protect systems against damage, changes, or illegal access by defining access privileges, control structures, and resources.
  • Implement security improvements by assessing current situation; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.
  • Upgrade systems by implementing and maintaining security and technical controls.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • 7+ years of related experience. BA/BS degree preferred.
  • Strong analytical ability, communication skills, and work-ethic.
  • Experience with Financial and Commission Payments applications is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of SQL is a plus.
  • Ability to leverage SQL Server Management Studio and query skills to troubleshoot system data issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and to meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Ability to influence and build relationships.
  • Team orientation and hands-on leadership approach.
  • Proven Project Management experience.
  • Experience with Excel, Word and Microsoft Project.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver multiple concurrent projects or large-scale individual projects.
  • Travel may be required for key meetings, vendor visits, or project support based on business needs.

Salary Range $150,000 - $170,000. This is a bonus eligible position with a target incentive of 15%.
