About the Position Digital Promise is seeking an hourly contractor(s) to provide IRB and Data Privacy services to Digital Promise. Expected hours/week will vary, with a higher level of effort required when research proposals are due and projects are launched. Digital Promise anticipates being able to work with a contractor to provide advance notice of upcoming levels of effort. Specifically, the contractor will: • Review or draft (working from prior existing templates), Data Sharing Agreements (DSAs) to ensure compliance with all privacy policies and requirements. • As required for the drafting of DSAs, review all relevant data privacy policies and practices including federal, state, local and district level policies. • Offer hands-on support to projects and individuals related to Institutional Review Board (IRB) compliance, including but not limited to submissions, continuing reviews, reliance agreements, non-research determinations and other required materials. Provide expert guidance and recommendations to DP staff regarding FERPA and COPPA laws to ensure compliance in our agreements and practices. • Collaborate with the Digital Promise team on security incidents as needed. • Review and make recommendations to improve data privacy training for staff. Qualifications • At least four years of related experience. • A bachelor's degree. • Experience with IRB practices and procedures. • Experience reviewing and drafting Data Sharing Agreements • Expert knowledge of best practices for the sharing and management of nonpublic personal information, especially student (K-12) data. • Strong expertise in FERPA, COPPA.
